Think of floury hands, warm bread, good smels, flowers, laughter, and some ideas to take home.

We will bake bread and cook something delicious together, set the table, arrange flowers, share a meal, and just hang out for about six hours of relaxed, cozy vibes, in Düsseldorf - Pempelfort.

I’ll show you how to make sourdough bread from scratch, from feeding the starter, kneading, stretching and folding the dough, to scoring and baking it. You will go home with one loaf to bake the next morning, a round banneton proofing basket, a little kitchen cloth, a scoring blade, your own sourdough starter for all your future loaves, and all the information needed to phase out store-bought bread and phase in baking your own bread at home.

I think one of the most underrated forms of creativity is baking bread. This experience is an opportunity to make something different, boost creativity, meet new people, and learn from each other. I’m sure that the most beautiful things are the ones made together.

For baking your bread, you will need a round cast-iron pot (also known as a Dutch oven) of about 4.5 litres or more. It really simplifies the baking process, but if you don’t already have one, don’t worry. I can explain how to bake the bread without it for the moment.

The gatherings are held in English, but most probably we’ll end up speaking whatever language we happen to share.

I open new gathering dates throughout the year, so feel free to choose one that fits your schedule.

The next gathering is on 29 August 2026

If there are any dietary restrictions I should be aware of, let me know by email at hello@raiars.com.
