About
Welcome to
is a space for what my hands create.
Here you’ll find porcelain jewelry, ceramics for home, and gatherings about bread and shared tables.
I’m Raluca Iosof (rai), a Romanian artist based in Düsseldorf.
My work grows from the things that move me — shapes, light and shadow, the gesture of the water, the curve of a petal, the bending of a leaf in the wind. Inspiration comes from everyday moments, and truly seeing what’s around me has become a way of living. I translate these observations into handmade objects. They hold feelings that live inside what I make.
I’m passionate about photography and about working with flowers. It often feels like a small way of thanking every flower that exists. Photography helps me notice more and really see what I’m looking at.
Raiars is the place where my eye for form meets my love for making things by hand — a space where chance and intention coexist.
Porcelain is my favorite material to work with. It’s honest, if I can say that. It keeps every trace of touch. It’s fragile yet strong, delicate yet steady. It’s a material that never truly dies. Working with it feels like a conversation: it asks for patience, attention, and presence.
Most of my pieces begin with a feeling I want to keep, a curiosity I want to explore. They are hand-modeled, sculpted, brushed, and fired. They carry free, organic lines and each one is unique. I hope they’ll become part of your everyday expression.
About the name
I sign my work by hand with 𝘳𝘢𝘪 — my own handwriting, kept intentionally as part of my identity. 𝘙𝘢𝘪 is tied both to my name, Raluca Iosof, and to its figurative meaning in Romanian, my mother tongue: 𝘢 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺.
Creating with my hands feels exactly like that to me.
I added the Latin word for art, 𝘢𝘳𝘴, and that’s how the name 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘴 came to life.

Flowers mean the world to me, and I shaped this one to look like a porcelain flower — a way to make it somehow immortal. At the heart of this flower lies a subtle reference to the spiral of life — a symbol of growth, continuity, and the quiet unfolding of one’s inner journey. I shaped the petals to echo this spiral because creating with my hands has always felt like a return to myself, a way of moving forward while honoring everything that has shaped me. Art, much like life, unfolds in gentle, organic cycles.
You are welcomed into my world!
